COMMODITY MAN · BETA

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 29, 2026

This notice describes the beta site’s current data practices as of the effective date above. Commodity Man uses personal information to operate accounts, protect the service, and respond to support requests.

Information we handle

  • Account details: email address and the optional trade type selected at sign-up. Passwords are stored as password hashes, not readable passwords.
  • Authentication and abuse prevention: login attempt time, success or failure, account email, and a keyed one-way fingerprint derived from the request IP address. Older attempt records are pruned during sign-in activity.
  • Browser storage: the site stores a sign-in token and calendar filter preferences in your browser’s local storage. Clearing site storage signs you out and resets saved calendar filters.
  • Operational data: our hosting, database, and email-delivery providers may process technical request and delivery logs needed to run the site.

Product analytics

When optional analytics are on in this browser, we generate a random visitor identifier and a temporary session identifier to count site visits, page use, account creation, email verification, and market pages that bring visitors back. When you are signed in, events may be associated with your account ID. We do not send email addresses, search text, full URLs, or IP addresses to this analytics store. The private analytics report uses a 90-day window and prunes older events when events arrive or a report is requested. You can turn off analytics for this browser using the control below.

Optional product analytics are off in this browser. Turning them off stops future analytics events from this browser.

How we use it

We use account details to create and secure accounts, verify email addresses, recover passwords, and provide support. Security records help limit repeated failed sign-in attempts. Public market-data requests are made by the service; account details are not sent to USDA, EIA, FRED, or financial-data publishers as part of those requests.

Service providers and third parties

The site uses Vercel for frontend hosting and Railway for backend hosting. Account email messages are sent through the email-delivery service configured by Commodity Man. Chart pages may load TradingView widgets, which are operated by TradingView and may process browser information under its own policies. Links to external sites are governed by those sites’ privacy practices.

Commodity Man does not currently sell account information or use it for targeted advertising. We may disclose information where needed to protect the service, comply with law, or respond to a valid legal request.

Retention and choices

Account information is kept while the account is active. You can request account deletion or correction by emailing hello@commodityman.com. Recent authentication-abuse records are retained for security and pruned when they fall outside the 30-day window during subsequent sign-in activity. Email verification and password-reset tokens expire and are stored in hashed form.

You can clear local browser storage at any time. Doing so removes the locally stored sign-in token and calendar preferences. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete personal information; contact us to make a request.

Security and changes

We use safeguards such as password hashing, expiring one-time account tokens, and sign-in throttling. No internet service can promise perfect security. We will update this page when our data practices materially change and revise the effective date.
